Michel Hamon wins the  2017 ECNP Neuropsy-chopharmacology Award

ECNP’s premier research prize, the ECNP Neuropsychopharmacology Award, has this year been awarded to Michel Hamon, France, for his ground-breaking work on serotonin and the role of the brain receptors for serotonin in the treatment of psychiatric illness. The award will be conferred at the 30th ECNP Congress on 2-5 September 2017 in Paris, France, where Michel Hamon will deliver the ECNP Neuropsychopharmacology Award plenary lecture.

The ECNP Neuropsychopharmacology Award is given every year, alternating between basic science and clinical research, and comes with a prize of € 10,000. Full details can be found in the associated press release here.

Workshop on Clinical Research Methods

Only a few weeks left to apply!

The next ECNP Workshop on Clinical Research Methods will take place on 8-10 November 2017 in Barcelona, Spain.

The workshop introduces junior clinicians (psychiatrists, clinical psychologists, etc.) to research methodology and promotes a critical approach to the scientific literature that is particularly relevant to clinical practice.

This is a unique opportunity for junior colleagues to become familiar with the scientific method, the key to good practice.

If you would like to attend the workshop, you can apply until 1 May 2017.

There is no registration fee and hotel accommodation is provided free of charge by ECNP.

ISCTM

Join the ISCTM in Paris

Registration is now open for the 2017 Autumn Conference of the International Society for CNS Clinical Trials and Methodology (ISCTM), on 31 August to 2 September, immediately before the 30th ECNP Congress in Paris, France.

Held biennially in conjunction with the ECNP Congress, the meeting addresses key strategic, methodological and regulatory issues affecting CNS clinical trial design and drug development.

The meeting is open to all participants. ECNP members are eligible for a special, discounted rate.
The early registration deadline is 12 June 2017.
